Somewhere between the Al-Azhar Mosque and the Blue Mosque we picked up a group of security guys/policemen who escorted us around (I think they were with Wael). I mention this because 1) it was a little weird and 2) they are the only reason we were able to get into the Blue Mosque which was closed for renovation. Also, it's a little scary that it took 15 minutes of walking before I noticed that I was being flanked by about 6 men. I should have known something was up when the passing cars were a WHOLE arm's length away and not within inches of me.
Here they are convincing the guard to let us in.
I'm glad it worked because this was one beautiful mosque, unlike all the others. So unique, so
blue.
Booker does not like being covered in dirt... welcome to Cairo.
Can you imagine how amazing it must look without the scaffolding? And maybe a good wash down?
Big pile of ROCKS!?! Heaven.
One big par-tay at the Blue Mosque. What I love about this photo is that right after I took it Wael (far left) wanted to see it. He agreed that it is a good photo.

You need to get Clark to take a few pictures. It seems I haven't seen you in ANY of them.
