Asher's First Birthday

I'm not exactly sure how this happened... but Asher turned one.

Rie Rie, Mar Mar (new official nickname for Amara?) and Kyle were here to celebrate.

Asher is one delightful little guy. You can usually find him sitting in his high chair (to keep him contained) enjoying some of his favorite foods (cherry tomatoes, zucchini, string cheese, pretzels, apples and fruit snacks) or crawling around getting into trouble, usually heading towards the downstairs bathroom so he can play in the toilet water. No signs of walking any time soon, but he does like to pull himself up and walk along walls and furniture. He likes to clap, wave and say HI but only if he's in the right mood. He likes to play peek-a-boo by slapping his hands over his ears but not his face. He LOVES to play with balls. He's a hitter and a biter, but in such an adorable manner it's easy to forgive him. He does not like to sit still for longer than 30 seconds. He is a nightmare at church. An angel late at night when we let him stay up after his older brothers have gone to bed. Happy birthday to my sweet little Blue.

We love you, Mr. Asher Attack.
Head over to the boys' blog to see more photos from his little birthday celebration.

The Muppets

Have you seen the new Muppet movie? No, you haven't. Well, go buy it now. Because once you do, you're kids will give you foot massages and then cheerfully clean up the house while rocking out to Starship's "We Built This City."

Seriously, watch The Muppets. Watch it now. It's my new favorite movie.

Kids Duathalon

Photobucket

Last Saturday my friend and athlete extraordinaire organized a neighborhood kids duathalon. Ike's age group ran 100 yards, biked a quarter mile and then ran 100 yards. Booker's age group ran a quarter mile, biked a half mile and ran a quarter mile. The boys had been talking about their upcoming "race" for several weeks and were pretty excited when the day finally arrived. It was 90 degrees that day but they both managed to finish. Ike was DEAD last but didn't seem to notice and Booker didn't get a migraine after he finished- success! I really love our neighborhood for exactly this reason. Thank you Jen for sponsoring such a fun event!
