You had to pay an extra entrance fee to visit the Topkapi Harem and even though I'm a bit of a tightwad, we just couldn't visit Ottoman land and not go to a
harem. Unlike the official palace, the harem at Topkapi is actually where most of the day to day living happened. Plus who wouldn't want to visit a place dominated by women. In fact, they say the empire was ruled from the harem.
